Day 1

EDRAROUR - DALWHINNIE - CAIRNGORMS

EDRADOUR is Scotland’s smallest distillery and possibly the most unique. Dating to 1825 it produces fine handmade single malts on a farmhouse scale. DALWHINNIE is Scotland’s highest working distillery. Set in splendid mountain scenery, several tours are on offer with the Whisky and Chocolate a favourite. The CAIRNGORMS, a huge National Park have classic glens and mountain views.

Day 2

ABERLOUR - MACALLAN - WHISKY SHOP

On the detailed tour of ABERLOUR, you are able to hand-fill your own bottle from a sherry butt or a bourbon barrel, fine examples of the distillery’s style. On a magnificent 485 acre estate, The MACALLAN guests have the opportunity to sample the oaky, resiny, sherried flavours of their whiskies. The exceptional WHISKY SHOP in Dufftown has an amazing array of fine and rare whiskies.

Day 3

COOPERAGE - BALVENIE - GLENFIDDICH

Since 1947 SPEYSIDE COOPERAGE has produced the finest casks from the best American Oak. It produces the age-old product using traditional methods and tools. BALVENIE tour is a comprehensive in-depth 3 hours. With a maximum of 8 people, the tour offers a unique experience including the floor maltings. The world’s best selling malt is GLENFIDDICH. There are four tours to choose from.

Day 4

GLENFARCLAS - BALLINDALLOCH CASTLE - GLENLIVET

GLENFARCLAS boasts the largest stills in Speyside. The mountain of Ben Rinnes rises behind the distillery where the water is drawn. BALLINDALLOCH CASTLE is one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland, known as the Pearl of the North and home of the Macpherson-Grants since 1546. GLENLIVET site is in wild remote countryside. The scotch captures the spirit of the glens.

Day 6

LOCH NESS - URQUHART CASTLE - OBAN

URQUHART CASTLE is one of the largest forts in Scotland with spectacular views across iconic LOCH NESS and Great Glen. It dates to 597AD with a turbulent history – once a stronghold of the MacDonald family. A short cruise along the home of the legendary monster allows excellent views. The OBAN distillery is one of the smallest and since 1794 producing an authentic, limited scotch.

Day 7

KILMARTIN GLEN - BOWMORE

After travelling through one of the most historic landscapes in the world; KILMARTIN GLEN we take the ferry to Islay. Kilmartin has 150 prehistoric sites and over 200 other ancient monuments. On Islay, stopping at BOWMORE, the capital of Islay, but barely more than a hamlet, we visit the famous Bowmore Vaults, where the whisky spends decades below sea level in damp cellars.

Day 8

ARDBEG - LAGAVULIN - LAPHROAIG

At Islay’s southern tip, ARDBEG was originally run by smugglers and is famous for its peaty flavours. LAGAVULIN means “the hollow where the mill is”. It is commanded by the ruins of Dunyvaig Castle, once the stronghold of the Lords of the Isles. LAPHROAIG has the most medicinal of malts. “Love it or hate it” says their advertising slogan. It’s founder died falling into one of the vats.

Day 9

FERRY - LOCHS - AUCHENTOSHAN

Taking the morning FERRY back to the mainland, we pass beautiful Loch Fyne, world famous for oysters. Driving through the dramatic mountain scenery LOCH LOMOND comes into view. Known for unusual wildlife, it is a huge body of water. On the outskirts of Glasgow is AUCHENTOSHAN. This sweet and delicate whisky is one of the few lowland distilleries and has an excellent range of scotch.
